This new release provides significant enhancement and extends the capabilities of the Microsoft ECM platform to seamlessly ingest very large volumes of document images into any MOSS 2007 application.
iPath:Capture for MOSS 2007 complements the MOSS document and records management platform with a production level document image capture solution that provides advanced capabilities for batch and high volume scanning capable of capturing hundreds of thousands of image per day. With iPath:Capture users are able to organize their large volume capture process, including workflow and quality assurance, to be highly automated thus minimizing human error and maximizing performance. The indexing and validation of captured documents can be simplifies with iPath:Capture built-in functions including zonal OCR, barcode reading, and database lookup against multi-key fields. iPath:Capture supports document capture from over 250 scanners and performs image processing functions (deskew, border removal, rotation, etc.) at the rated speed of the scanner. iPath:Capture, through its MOSS migration web part, will automatically create or append the captured documents in MOSS document libraries based on user-specified document classification structures.
The seamlessly integrated MOSS 2007 and iPath:Capture solution when coupled with iPath:Archive document image and archiving solution, provide a comprehensive and enterprise class document management, records management, capture, document imaging, web content management, business process automation and archiving solution. Documents that are captured and archived into iPath:Archive are subjected to the same rules and policies that apply to documents stored in SharePoint.
